that is so not true about the departmental stores and about wearing SHORTS... objection raised !!
I agree with people in departmental stores not smiling (or returning the smile). One young lady complained to her boss that I was hitting on her. Another two in MG Road (Bangalore) thought I was a lunatic - for smiling for no apparent reason.
